Copper strips are perfect for use with different application requirements. That’s why they are available in multiple thickness and diameters. These strips have many beneficial aspects and some of the most important ones are high resistance to corrosion, great finish, accurate dimension, and especially high strength. These features help in matching up with the requirements of various applications, used for different purposes.
A copper strip manufacturer prepares these strips from many grades and some of them are EN 12451, BS 2871 Part 3, BS 2871 Part 2, ASTM B 75, and ASTM B 68. As they are available with various specifications, they are used with different applications too. Some of the most important ones are defence, ship repairing, ship building, refineries, power plants, heat exchangers, condensers, chillers, welding, gas hydro power projects, bending, flanging, and many more. Usually, a copper strip manufacturer prepares different types of copper strips and some of the most useful as well as popular ones are paper copper strip, glass fiver covered copper strips, braided copper strip, enamelled copper strip, and bare copper strip.
Now, let’s have a closer look at the different types of copper strips manufactured –
#1 Bare Copper Strip
These strips are known for their corrosion resistive feature. Most common application of these strips is found in automatic machines. They are used predominantly because of two important features – wastage reduction feature and ability to increase production. It has been found that production houses use them as raw materials in various machines. Production companies those are located in areas having high salt content in soil usually use them predominantly. Main features are longer service life, precision engineering, dimensional control, and crack free bends. While thickness of these strips vary from 0.01 mm to 60 mm, available width of these strips vary from 6 mm to 359 mm. Most common applications of these strips are in switch terminals, electrical conductors, electrical contacts, and electrical circuits.
#2 Enameled Copper Strips
Another popular strip-kind manufactured by a copper strip manufacturer is enamelled copper strips. They are mainly used for insulation purposes. Exceptional performance value helps it in wide range of usages. They are free of defects and that’s why their most common uses are in wide array of switch gears as well as oil filed transformers. In fact, many businesses also use enamelled copper strips for binding purposes too. These strips are used to bind different things such as special transformers, electric motor stators, and high voltage motors. Important features of these strips are durability, tensile strength, resistivity to heat/weather/water, and flexibility.
There are mainly three kinds of products available in the market and they are Polyesterimide Enameled Rectangular Copper Strip Class 180, Polyester Enameled Rectangular Copper Strip Class 155, and Polyesterimide over coated with polyamide-imide enameled Rectangular Copper Strip Class 200. Cross sectional areas as well as width are same in all these products and they are 3 Sq mm to 75 Sq mm and 1 mm to 5 mm respectively.
These are the different types of copper strips manufactured by a copper strip manufacturer.
